As national leaders, you want your nation to be the best nation in the whole world. The first thing you have to do to make a nation great is to believe that your nation is great! In this portion of the LARP, each table of national leaders will work to promote nationalism within their countries. You want to motivate devotion and loyalty in your citizens. To do this, you need symbols of nationalism.

Time to Complete: Small Group Activity - 15 minutes
Directions: The first thing you will do to create a sense of nationalism in your nation is to design a flag. You will use an online tool called Scrontch's Flag Designer to do this.
On the Secretary's computer, click on the Flag Maker icon below. Every other member of the group will use their computers to follow the picture tutorial and flag making directions below to complete your national flag. Directions: Part of nationalism is loyalty. Now that you have a flag, you need to create a pledge of allegiance. There are several things you want to consider as you write your pledge. Follow the instructions below to write your pledge.

Challenge 3 Chronicles are worth 50 points. You will first complete the vocabulary terms for the Challenge. At the end of the challenge you will answer the questions about what you learned in today's Challenge. If you should lose the copy I give you in class, you can print out another copy at home by clicking on the link in the toolbox.
