WHAT IS MILITARY RAID?

A raid is a surprise attack mission which has a specific purpose.   It is not normally intended to capture and hold territory.  In a raid, the surprise attackers quickly retreat after they have attacked the specific area of their mission.  Raids can be by land, air, or sea.
