I can list the personal information that I should not share online.

Personal Information

What is personal information?  Let's watch this video to find out.

Tool Box

Picture
digital citizen: a person who knows the proper ways to behave while being online

Internet: a worldwide network that connects people using computers, phones, or other devices

online: connected to the Internet

website: a place you can visit on the Internet

personal information:  Information that helps tell about you

private:  things you do not share with others

THINK-PAIR-SHARE
Turn to your shoulder partner and answer these questions together.
1.  What is personal information?

2.  What kinds of personal information can I share with others?

3.  What kinds of personal information do I keep private?

4.  Why do I need to keep certain personal information private?

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TO SHARE WITH OTHERS

Let's review the personal information that we need to keep private.  We should only share this information with a trusted adult like a parent or teacher.

YOUR TURN

Now let's see what you learned.  Let's pretend you come across an awesome website called the Epic Superheroes Club Website where you can register to be a member of the club.  You come across the form below.  What information could you share safely and what information should you keep private? We will do the online polls as a class.  I will read the question and then you will vote.  We will talk about each poll as a class after we review the results.
