WHAT IS RAZ KIDS?
Raz-Kids is an award-winning literacy program that provides comprehensive leveled reading resources for students with hundreds of eBooks offered at 29 different levels of reading difficulty.
HOW DOES RAZ KIDS WORK?
Kids access their leveled text through an interactive learning portal designed to keep them motivated and engaged. Every eBook is available in online and mobile formats, and allows students to listen to, read at their own pace, and record themselves reading. Students then take a corresponding eQuiz complete with an extended answer response to test comprehension and determine future instruction needs. Once a child has read ten or more of the leveled eBooks and passed each of the corresponding eQuizzes, they advance on to the next reading level where they have access to lengthier and more difficult text.
HOW DOES MY STUDENT COMPLETE RAZ KIDS ASSIGNMENTS?
Once students are on Raz-Kids, they have access to several features if their teacher has assigned it to them. These may include: the book room, messages, the Robot Builder, the Records-Flight Check, and Raz Rocket. In order to automatically move to a new reading level, students need to do ALL 3 activities for each book in their assignment which are the listening activity, the reading activity, and the Quiz.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING RAZ KIDS?
Raz-Kids helps students improve their literacy skills by offering leveled reading, interactive tools, digital incentives and rewards, and digital reporting to the teacher. Teachers can then use what they learn from the student’s data to tailor individualized instruction best suited for each student.
