FROM FARM TO TABLE
Week 1: Agriculture
Students will learn about agriculture by planting crops.
Week 2: Processing
Students will harvest and bag the crops to learn how crops must be processed, inspected, and packaged before they can go to grocery stores.
Week 3: Transportation and Distribution
Students will learn about how processed crops get to grocery stores by building a train track and road system from their farms to model grocery stores.
Week 4: Business and Economics
Students will learn how the amount of product you buy affects the price by purchasing combinations of different size bags of their crops with a set amount of play money.
Week 5: Society and Life Skills
Students will learn how to prepare a salad using the vegetables they purchased from the grocery store the previous week.
